Injection Training for Providers

It’s been five years since I started training for Allergan, maker of Botox, Latisse, and Juvederm. I still like it as much as when I first started. I like to teach so much that I have developed my own training program as well. Teaching is not new to me as I have taught a business course for medical students at Midwestern University. This is a little different, obviously. The number of trainees can be from one to five and consists of training for Botox and dermal fillers – Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, and others. Some are novice, never having injected before, while others are advanced injectors looking for new techniques.
Since many of these classes are out of state, I recently added my fourth medical license in New Mexico. That makes it easier to train since I can inject my own models while I help others inject theirs. Training does a lot for me. It adds credibility to my resume, helps me learn new techniques, and being a social person, expands my network of injectors. We have also provided classes in our office.
So, teaching injections techniques expands my horizon, my network, and provides credibility. But to be honest, it really boils down to having a good time at work – and I do!
