Imagine taking a photo ten years from now and looking better than you do today! Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?

I attended a seminar in which Dr. Patrick Bitter was teaching the Forever Young BBL treatment. Dr. Bitter is the Godfather of PhotoFacials, he has done extensive studies including the famous 10 year study with Stanford University. The Bitter/Stanford study followed a group of women ages 30’s to 50’s. The women began with three PhotoFacials the first year of the study, for the next 9 years they had one or two a year. After ten years, photos were taken and double blind panels of skin experts were asked to identify the beginning photo from ten years prior. The experts could not tell the difference between the photos or choose the more recent photo. All participations in the study showed that their skin had not aged in 10 years.

I love that study. I have been an advocate of PhotoFacials for years. The term PhotoFacial or IPL, intense pulsed light, or BBL, broadband light are basically the same procedure. The machine that Dr. Bitter uses is the Sciton BBL, which is the same machine that The Blume Skin Centre uses. PhotoFacials are great for removing pigment and reducing vessels and giving an overall brightening to the skin with the added benefit of collagen induction.

Photofacials require no down time; you can have a PhotoFacial at lunch and go back to work. The treatment takes about one hour; we apply topical numbing cream to assist with the minor discomfort. After the treatment you may apply make-up and continue on with your normal routine. This month at The Blume Skin Centre we are offering our “Get rid of Sun Damage and Remove your Spots” special. The price for face, neck, chest and hands is only $350, which is a savings of $300. Get your fall glow on with this September special.
