Dr. Blume tries Ultherapy

DRBUTLERAPY-225x300I always try to participate in and try our new therapies.  It enables me to tell the patients what to expect as I know it firsthand.  So, while waiting for Voluma (the newest and greatest injectable) to be injected I decided to try Ultherapy.  It is the only non-invasive therapy machine that is FDA approved to lift the face.  If you want to do both dermal fillers and laser or other machines, you want to do the machine first then injections.  So, I did.  We have always tried to limit the associated pain and have a few methods to do this including narcotic medicine, non-narcotic medicine, and non-narcotic injections.  After hearing all about the pain associated with Ultherapy, I chose to have my doctor give me two pills and took them one hour before them procedure.  The answer is that it has does have associated pain, but with the pain pills prior I did not mind it at all and just laid there while having it done.I have had BBL/IPL  in the past with nothing but topical numbing cream that worked well and the Ultherapy was very similar.  It has been only three weeks and people are already starting to tell me they see a difference.  In three months I will see the final result and post it on FaceBook, so be on the lookout.
