PRP for Tear Troughs

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. It is obtained through drawing your blood, then spinning the blood in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from the blood cells. This PRP is like liquid gold! It’s got some of the best growth factors you can get, and it has many applications.

One way that we like to use PRP at Blume Skin & Body is to revive tired, hallowed, or dark under eyes. The PRP is injected into the under eye area (also known as the Tear Troughs) to give a more youthful, awake appearance to the eyes. The PRP stimulates collagen production to help revive this area.

PRP injection process

We recommend doing a series of 3 PRP Tear Trough treatments, spaced four weeks apart for optimal results. The treatment is quick and minimally invasive. It’s extremely low-risk for any reactions since the substance is drawn from your own blood.

Other applications for PRP include injections for hair restoration and an addition to the microneedling treatment. Harnessing the power of your own plasma is a natural way to restore lost collagen and reverse the signs of aging for our face and hair!
